Kommt der CCIE Design zurück?

Wieder einmal wurde ich von Cisco zu einer Umfrage zu deren Zertifizierungs-Programm aufgefordert. Während in der letzten Umfrage unter anderem ein “Certified Network Novice” angesprochen wurde, war diesmal eine Frage dabei, wie ich die “job roles and skills” eines CCIE Design beschreiben würde.

Nur zur Erinnerung:

Im Frühjahr 2000 wurde schon einmal ein CCIE Design-Track gestartet, ein Jahr später wurde der Track wieder auf Eis gelegt. Ein Cisco-Statement von damals auf TCPmag.com:

“We have come to the conclusion that trying to evaluate a candidate’s design skills in an implementation lab does not make sense and customer feedback that we have received supports this conclusion,” the company said on its Web site. “Although there may be other ways to assess design skills, we feel that the CCIE program is not the place for such an exam. Our decision is to retire the CCIE Design track.”

Mal sehen ob Cisco es wirklich nochmal versuchen will.
